We gather Saturday evening on the threshold of the summer solstice, so the practices can continue to move through the body as the Sun reaches its height early Sunday morning. The summer solstice is the longest light of the year — a threshold of fullness, nourishment, and return.

It is a time to embody what has been ripening, to let ourselves be fed, and to feel the abundance of the season.

Horses are solar beings in a very particular way: they make life visible.

Their bodies shine with aliveness.
Their nervous systems tell the truth.
Their eyes reflect the field.
Their running is joy made physical.
Their stillness is prayer.

The solstice is not a command to shine harder or perform the light. It is an invitation to stand still in the light, receive, and play.

Through gentle movement, breath, heart-centered practice, time with the horses, solstice ritual, nourishment, cacao, and embodied play, we will explore freedom as an embodied and relational experience — the capacity to remain present, open, and alive in relationship with self, horse, land, and the living field.

Working with themes from my Fire Horse ritual gates — the Field of the Willing Heart, the Golden Breath of Capacity, and the Joy of Untamed Play — we will move between stillness and motion, reverence and play, grounding and radiance.

The solstice teaches us how to hold brightness while knowing everything changes. It is both maximum light and the beginning of the return. In this threshold, we practice trusting the light enough to let life move through all of its forms.

Before gathering on the land, we meet online Friday night to prepare our nervous systems, receive an orientation to the horses and land, and work with simple practices that support grounding, reduce stress, and build the capacity to be present without urgency or overwhelm.

When we arrive on the land Saturday, we begin by attuning to the environment and reconnecting with the rhythms of the earth. We will move through somatic and breath practices, solstice ritual, time for nourishment, cacao ceremony, and quiet presence with the herd.

When we enter the horses’ space, we enter as respectful guests — regulated, attentive, and open to what the encounter may reveal.

This is not a riding experience, and interaction with the horses is never required or guaranteed. The horses are sovereign beings whose choices matter. Their presence invites us into coherence, humility, joy, and the freedom of being fully alive.

In this field, many people experience:

• a down-regulation of stress and nervous system activation
• a deeper sense of grounding and connection to the body
• increased clarity around boundaries and relational awareness
• a felt sense of calm, presence, and internal steadiness
• renewed connection to nature as a living system rather than a resource
• a quiet recognition of freedom, vitality, and aliveness within themselves

This retreat includes:

• online preparation session on Zoom
• nervous system regulation and coherence practices
• orientation to the horses, land, and consent-based horse space
• reflection on the summer solstice and embodied freedom
• land attunement and sensory awareness
• gentle movement and breathwork
• quiet time in the presence of the herd
• solstice ritual
• cacao ceremony
• nourishment
• my Fire Horse ritual guidebook

This work is not about doing something with horses.

It is about remembering who we are when we stand in the presence of freedom and in the light of the Sun.
