Freedom - A Blue Moon half-day retreat with horses, land, and the heart of the wild

Freedom - A Blue Moon half-day retreat with horses, land, and the heart of the wild $222 in Warren, Rhode Island

Friday 6:30-8:30 pm (Zoom)

Sunday 4-9ishpm

On May 31, we gather under the field of a rare Blue Moon — a Sagittarius Full Moon appearing close to Antares, the bright red star known as the heart of the Scorpion.

This is a potent threshold for exploring freedom as an embodied state: the capacity to slow down, listen deeply, and remain present in relationship with ourselves, the land, the horses, and the living world.

In the heart field of the herd, freedom stops being an idea.

The body begins to remember what it is beneath the constraints, protections, programs, and conditionings it has carried. What has bound us can become material for transformation. What has protected us can be honored and softened. What is most true can begin to stand forward.

This retreat is an invitation to regulate the nervous system, return to embodied presence, enter relationship with horses as sovereign beings, and rewild under the light of the full moon.

Before gathering on the land, participants meet online Friday night  to prepare their nervous systems, receive an orientation to the horses and land, and explore the astrological field of this Blue Moon beside Antares. Together we will work with simple practices that support grounding, reduce stress, and build the capacity to be present without urgency or overwhelm.

When we arrive on the land, we begin by attuning to the environment and reconnecting with the rhythms of the earth. We will do somatic and breath practices. From there, we enter the horses’ space as respectful guests — regulated, attentive, and open to what the encounter may reveal. We will not ride the horses, this is entirely groundwork.  And they have choice whether they engage with us.

Horses respond to coherence rather than performance. Their sensitivity to breath, posture, and the subtle signals of the nervous system invites us into a deeper kind of presence. As the body settles and awareness widens, something important becomes possible: the human heart becomes available for relationship.

We will share snacks and then do our full moon work.

Under this Full Moon, we will explore freedom as a process of transmutation. The old patterns that have shaped how we meet life can begin to soften and reveal themselves. Held by land, guided by the nervous system, and witnessed by the horses, we are invited to remember the deeper truth beneath the pattern: the self that is already alive, coherent, relational, and free.

In that field, many people experience:

• a down-regulation of stress and nervous system activation
• a deeper sense of grounding and connection to the body
• increased clarity around boundaries and relational awareness
• a felt sense of calm, presence, and internal steadiness
• renewed connection to nature as a living system rather than a resource
• a quiet recognition of freedom, vitality, and aliveness within themselves

This retreat includes:

• an online preparation session - must attend
• nervous system regulation and coherence practices
• orientation to the horses, land, and consent-based horse space
• reflection on the Blue Moon, Antares, and the theme of embodied freedom
• land attunement and sensory awareness
• quiet time in the presence of the herd
• Full Moon practice

This work is not about doing something with horses.

It is about remembering who we are when we stand in the presence of freedom and under the light of the full moon.
